Orphea

In Orphea, the German filmmaker-author Alexander Kluge and the Filipino filmmaker-artist Khavn meet on the terrain of the music film. Together they stage a reinterpretation of the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice. Aided by a gender shift and a good dose of fantasy, they try to reverse the tragic fate of the myth. True to the vision of the directorial duo, Orphea also turns out to be a punk satire on contemporary consumer culture and xenophobia.
